Gully Mouse and Sue Conway from Gulliver’s hand over a cheque to Martin Neal from Dreams Come True |
Theme park visitors have helped family firm Gulliver’s donate thousands of pounds to children’s charity Dreams Come True.
A cheque for £23,000 was presented to Dreams Come True, which works with terminally and seriously ill children aged between 2 and 21 across the country, after working closely with the charity for the past three years.
The theme park company ran a series of fundraising events at all three of its theme park sites in Warrington, Matlock Bath and Milton Keynes over the course of the past three years to raise money for the charity. Events included annual summer party weekends which saw hundreds of seriously and terminally ill children visit Gulliver’s theme parks with their families to enjoy much needed respite in the form of rides, shows, entertainment and special celebrity appearances.
Dean Kimberley from Gulliver’s said: "We have had a great time working with such a fantastic charity as Dreams Come True and we are truly delighted to have raised such a significant sum for their children."
Martin Neal from Dreams Come True said: "A massive thank you for the last few years, it’s been a pleasure working with the whole Gullivers team from all the parks, a lot of good memories!"
During the fundraising campaign, Gulliver’s also set up ‘Dream Ponds’ in each of its theme parks to encourage families visiting to donate money towards helping individual children’s dreams come true.
