Apprenticeships up for grabs
More than 50 apprenticeships are available with Derbyshire county Council as they continue to find opportunities for young people to start their careers.
Chief Executive Ian Stephenson said:
"We’re delighted to be able to offer more than 50 apprenticeships this year. "An apprenticeship offers a great way into the world of work and we hope as many people as possible come along to the recruitment days to see what we have on offer."
The apprenticeships are available in locations across the county in various occupations including:
- Business Administration − Matlock, Chesterfield, Ripley
- Creative and Digital Media − Chesterfield
- Music Production and Marketing − Chesterfield
- Outdoor Education − Lea Green
- Electrotechnical/Street Lighting − Chesterfield
- Information Technology − Matlock
- Vehicle Mechanic − Dove Holes
- Estimators − Chesterfield, Denby
- Landscape − Chesterfield, Denby
- Roofer − Denby
- Health and Social Care − across the county
- Social Media Publicity and Marketing − Chesterfield
- Youth Work − Chesterfield
- Highways Laboratory Technician − Ambergate
- Roadworker − Chesterfield, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Duffield
- School Catering − Buxton, Matlock, Chesterfield, Ripley, Glossop
- Joiner − Dove Holes, Chesterfield
- Plumber − Denby, Chesterfield
Recruitment days will be held on the following dates at:
- Derbyshire County Council Headquarters, County Hall, Matlock, DE4 3AG, Monday 13 April, 3pm-6.30pm
- The Peter Webster Centre, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S41 8LQ, Thursday 16 April, 3pm-6.30pm
- Wilmot Street Community Centre, Heanor, DE75 7EF, Friday 17 April, 3pm-6.30pm
- Connexions, Rink House, Swadlincote, DE11 8JL, Tuesday 28 April, 3pm-6pm
- Dove Holes Community Centre, Dove Holes, SK17 8BP, Wednesday 29 April, 3pm-6pm
Visitors will be able to talk to staff about the apprenticeships available, pick up an application form and participate in mini skills workshops on completing application forms and preparing for interviews.
Application forms are expected to be available online (opens in a new window) on 27 March and will close on 10 May.
