Renewed witness appeal issued for assault in Alfreton

Police have renewed their appeal for information after a 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on Alfreton Park at about 10.30am on Monday February 1 2016.

The suspect is described as being an Asian man, of slim build. He appeared to be in his 30s and had stubble. He was wearing a black Adidas hooded top.

It’s believed he made off on foot possibly towards Wingfield Road, Alfreton.

The woman was very shocked but unhurt by the attack.

DC Adam Gascoigne said: “This appears to be an isolated incident but we are treating it very seriously.”

Officers will be handing out leaflets in the area today (Friday February 5) and during the next few days asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with any information should please contact DC 2659 Adam Gascoigne, Ripley CID, on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
