Driver assaulted by man on moped
Police have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault on a man in Codnor. On Friday, June 8 at 1.05pm a man was driving up Codnor Denby Lane when a man on a moped pulled up really close to his car. The driver of the car parked up and got out of his vehicle. The driver of the moped then proceeded to head butt the man with his helmet on. The man then fell to the floor and the moped driver punched him several times. The driver of the moped then drove off from the scene and headed towards Heanor. The moped was described as a Vesper style, blue/grey in colour. The driver was wearing a high visibility jacket and a black helmet. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ripley police using the non-emergency 101 number.
