Biog for Adrian Gill

Born in Belper Adrian lived mostly in Derby until his other job took him "darn sarf" for a few years before moving back to the Amber Valley over 7 years ago.

He reckons he is 21 years old for about the 27th time and has been married to Wendy for over 25 of those (work that one out?), and has 1 daughter, Alex, who is a nurse.

Away from radio he is a mad keen Rams fan of 40 odd years (“it doesn’t sound that much when you say it quick”, he says). And that would certainly explain the grey hairs. He also enjoys a decent pint of ale (and it shows) but says he doesn’t like “fizzy rocket fuels like lager - apart from maybe the Czech stuff".

His favourite TV shows are Ashes to Ashes, Life on Mars, Phoenix Nights, Minder and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Plus anything that makes him laugh and Adrian likes most music from most era’s but is also a bit of an ELO anorak on the QT. Favourite foods are a full English breakfast and a decent curry, although not on the same plate.

After being with Amber Sound from the start, Adrian now gives up his weekend lie-in to drink lots of coffee and present the Weekend Breakfast Show. Of his work in radio he says “Sometimes I'm not sure I always know as much as I think I do....but I love doing it!”
