Easter Family Fun At The West Shed, Midland Railway – Creative Crafts & Trains!

26th March 2018 to 6th April 2018
(11am to 4pm )

Join us for family fun during the Easter holidays at the West Shed Museum!

Come and see our historic steam locomotives and railway carriages then get creative with our craft activities:
- Make a 'junk model' train.
- Have a go at Easter themed activities.
- See our model railway in action, play with our toy train sets and sit on our miniature engine to pretend to be a train driver.

26th March to 6th April 2018:
Craft activities will be available at the West Shed Monday to Friday, 11am - 4pm. Activities are mainly free but some may carry a small charge for materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum is open for visitors every day (Monday to Sunday) 11am-4pm.

Elsewhere on-site:
- Trains will be running every day from Butterley Station (except Monday 26th March) and you can have a go at an Easter treasure hunt around the site (sheets need to be collected from and returned to Butterley Station).

For further details, train times, fares, etc. please see the Midland Railway-Butterley website: http://www.midlandrailway-butterley.co.uk/

HOW TO GET TO THE WEST SHED:
Free admission to the West Shed - craft activities are mainly free but some may carry a small charge for materials. The West Shed is located on the Swanwick Junction museum complex of the Midland Railway-Butterley. Normal access to the site is via a heritage train ride from Butterley Station (fare payable), alighting at Swanwick Station to walk up to the West Shed (approx. 430 metres walk including some uneven ground). For information about travelling by train (times, fares, etc.) please see the Midland Railway-Butterley website: http://www.midlandrailway-butterley.co.uk/ or call Butterley Station on 01773 570140.

Access to Swanwick Junction is also possible via a walking route from Butterley Station. Please note: this is half a mile over uneven ground and unfortunately not suitable for visitors with limited mobility, wheelchairs or pushchairs.
