Derbyshire County Council are offering 45 apprenticeships
Forty-five apprenticeships are on offer as we continue to find opportunities for young people to start their careers.
Councillor Brian Ridgway, our Cabinet Member for Council Services said:
There are almost 3,200 unemployed young people in Derbyshire and we want to do all we can to find a brighter future for as many as possible.
"Apprenticeships offer a great way into the world of work and this year we’ve got a great selection on offer."
The apprenticeships available are:
Health and social care School catering Recycling promotions (customer service) Nursery nurse Building surveyor Electrician Tree operative Business administration Engineering maintenance surveyor Landscape construction Landscape operative Plumber Estimator Roadworkers And a series of events has been organised for young people and their families to find out more, and to take part in workshops on completing application forms and preparing for interviews. They are:
28 April, 3pm -7pm County Hall, Matlock. DE4 3AG
29 April, 3pm - 6pm Rink House, Rinkway, Swadlincote. DE11 8JL
6 May, 2pm -7pm Peter Webster Centre, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield. S41 8LQ
8 May, 3pm -7pm New Mill Adult Centre, Springbank Road, New Mills. SK22 4AZ
9 May, 3pm -7pm Wilmot Street Centre, Heanor. DE75 7EF
Applications close on 18 May and all apprenticeships start in September 2014.
