Police give talks on safety to cubs in Loscoe and call in at drop-in for young people in Heanor
Youngsters in Loscoe have been learning about safety and young people in Heanor had the chance to chat about concerns during separate visits from their local police.
Officers from the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team called in to see 1st Loscoe (St. Lukes) Cubs on Wednesday April 2 and Wednesday, April 9 to help with their personal safety badge.
They gave talks on road safety and the Highway Code, firework safety, water safety, online safety, stranger danger and how the emergency services can help you.
On Monday, April 14 the team called in to Blend Youth Project’s drop-in session in Heanor to offer young people the chance to chat about any issues affecting them and to get to know their local police.
While at the session, the officers also helped the young people create some graffiti art which will be put on display in the coffee bar.
PCSO Emma Fisher of the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We regularly visit young people’s groups so that we can get to know them, help pass on safety advice and hopefully encourage a relationship of trust and confidence in their local police service.”
