Chesterfield fans reminded that Rams FA Cup fixture is sold out
Away fans planning to travel to Derby for this weekend’s FA Cup game between Derby County and Chesterfield are being reminded that the fixture is a sell-out.
Chesterfield FC has sold its entire 5,700-seat allocation for the game, which kicks off at the iPro Stadium at 3pm on Saturday.
No tickets for away supporters will be available on the day and fans are being urged not to head to the ground if they do not already have a seat.
There will be an increased police presence in the city, on key routes to the stadium and at the train station to ensure members of the public are safe.
Superintendent Graham McLaughlin, who is leading the policing operation, said: “We want people to enjoy the event and the atmosphere and I would remind them that any trouble will not be tolerated.
“This fixture will be extremely popular with both home and away fans and we want them to be able to enjoy the game safely.
“Anyone who causes trouble or is excessively intoxicated will be removed from the ground or barred entry in the first place.
“We will have a clear presence at the stadium and anyone who wants to raise any concerns only needs to speak to an officer on the day.”
Coaches travelling from Chesterfield should arrive at the iPro Stadium no later than 2pm. Away fans are also being urged to exit the stadium safely as soon as the match is finished to ensure that Chesterfield-bound coaches can leave as quickly as possible.
