Police Appeal For Witnesses After Garden Ornament Thefts Across Amber Valley

Police are appealing for information after a number of garden ornaments, plants and pots were stolen from resident’s gardens in Amber Valley.

Properties on Heanor Road in Codnor were targeted earlier this month with offenders gaining entry through unlocked gates.

On Thursday, March 31, items were stolen from the garden of a property on Derby Road in Ripley.

Sometime between 6pm on Sunday, March 8 and 6.30am on Monday, March 9, a number of garden ornaments and equipment were taken from a property on The Orchard in Horsley Woodhouse.

It’s been reported that several ornaments have also been stolen from St Clement’s Cemetery in Horsley over the last few months.

Police are keen to speak to an elderly woman that has been driving a dark coloured Volvo Estate car in the areas.

PC Anna Welberry from the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We’re urging local people who may have details about any of the crimes to come forward and let us know. We want to speak to any residents who have CCTV cameras in the areas as they may have video footage of the alleged offenders.

“We will be increasing patrols and are also asking residents to step up their home security including installing alarms, locks or lights, in a bid to deter this type of crime.”

Residents are urged to call 101 with any information or 999 in an emergency.
